Louis Brandt started something big when in 1848 he began hand assembling key-wound precision watches.  He procured the parts from a local craftsman in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland.  Until his sons, Louis-Paul and Cesar Brandt, took over the tradition their father began after he passed the Omega brand was born. 

In recent years Omega created the world’s first self-winding watch.    Innovative engineering produced the co-axial escapement in partnership with master watchmaker George Daniels.  This means that impulses are generated that make the watch move.  Providing greater precision and stability, this design reduces friction among the parts.  Power reserve is 42 hours.  Bracelet is available in steel, gold, or rose gold.  Movement:  Caliber 1164
