Omega Constellation Chronometer Men’s Watch 1103.60.00

A view of the Omega Constellation Chronometer Men’s Watch 1103.60.00.

Are you a man looking for a bold luxury watch? You might try the Omega Constellation Chronometer Men’s Watch 1103.60.00, a masculine 1995 model that glows warmly in red gold.

The Omega Constellation Men’s Watch 1103.60.00 is a rather conspicuous timepiece with a thick band leading right around its case. These are plated with 18K red gold, complemented by the dark brown of the face itself. On the bezel are the roman numerals from one to twelve (excluding three and nine, which have been replaced by pairs of horizontal gold bars), seemingly in a nod to early astrologers. The orderly small, square diamonds in on the face below acknowledge the legacy of mapping the heavens. The crystal over the face—a domed scratch-resistant sapphire with anti-reflective treatment on the inside—reminds us of observation domes; the luster of the red gold the luster of telescopes. All points not toward the sky, but to the history of man and the heavens, rooting the 1103.60.00 in the spirit of powerful, intelligent men.

This Omega Constellation Men’s Watch model first came out in 1995, but is still going strong. Its chronometer is Caliber Omega 1120, a self-winding chronometer in rhodium-plated finish. Its case is 35.5mm, and its water resistance 167 feet. The day of the month is posted in a small, gold-rimmed box at 3 o’clock on the face. A deployment buckle will get the model on and off of your wrist. This Constellation has a retail value of $16,500, but can be found for less in online luxury watch stores.

The 1103.60.00 seems to be a good model. Omega has dedicated itself for years to quality watch-making, so you can expect precision and accuracy down to the second hand of your Constellation watch.

The only thing I can see wrong with this ’95 Omega is its look, which I find to be a bit ostentatious. The small size of the diamonds is a little effeminate…their sparkle offsets what is otherwise a pretty masculine setup. Plus, the red gold might be hard to match with grey or blue business suits, which is a shame because the watch is meant to be worn to the office. But this is all just a matter of personal opinion. If you like the look, then by all means buy the 1103.60.00. Just remember to be wary of getting the watch too wet—like many luxury models, the Constellation is made to withstand hand-washing only.

The Omega Constellation Chronometer Men’s Watch 1103.60.00 is a good, practical model with fashionable value. If you like the look, check out luxury watch stores online…since the model hails from way back in 1995, Omega is no longer selling it.
